Churchill Downs has been selected as the host track for the 28th edition of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6, 2010, and will be televised live on ESPN and ABC. This will be the seventh time the Louisville, Kentucky, track has hosted Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious event, more than any other track.

The 2010 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the sport’s most prestigious event, annually attracts the best horses from North America and Europe. It is the richest prize-money event in sports, consisting of 14 races and purses totaling $25.5 million. After adding three additional $1 million Breeders’ Cup races to the 2010 event.
